I am working hard at earning a Fine Arts degree with a minor in creative writing at North Dakota State University.
My skill range of physical arts of work range with a set of mediums. Putting pens to paper is my main source of creative flow but I also enjoy using acrylic and oil paints on canvas.
My style of choice is crosshatching as I can achieve a range of values that has texture within the form. I can build up from nothing as I start with the thinnest of lines.
The primary program I use within my illustrations is Photoshop. I love going from a painterly like style to simplistic shading of a cartoon figure.
The depth of layers I can create is what has me coming back for more. Playing with effects and lighting that is difficult on paper, I love using textures to add another layer of detail to my imagery.
On most vacations and road trips, my camera is at my side. I love capturing nature and buildings of the area in hopes of remembering the view I may never see again.
Playing with depth of field and the natural tones of the world, I don’t do much editing within my photos. I let the colors speak for themselves. I also love capturing portraits of moments the model doesn’t realize. Those candid moments are my favorite.
Going back to the original method of photography of developing and exposing imagery is something I enjoy the motions of.
My favorite subject matter in this collection is my portrait photography. I allowed for the models to pose in any way they felt was most comfortable and what made them confident. I simply pushed the button.
