The primary program I use within my illustrations is Photoshop. I love going from a painterly like style to simplistic shading of a cartoon figure. The depth of layers I can create is what has me coming back for more. Playing with effects and lighting that is difficult on paper, I love using textures to add another layer of detail to my imagery.
